CheckFirst 21+ Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This policy covers the CheckFirst 21+ iOS app published by Universal Liquors, Dover, Delaware. It describes how information is handled when you scan an ID, enter dates, use reports, or contact support. The Universal Liquors shopping website and its services have a separate website privacy policy.
ID information stays on your device
CheckFirst 21+ processes scanned ID information on your device to assist with age and expiration checks. This may temporarily include camera images, barcode information, names, dates of birth, expiration dates, and other information visible on an ID. Dates entered manually are also processed on your device.
The app does not upload scanned ID information to Universal Liquors or a developer-operated server. It does not keep a customer ID history, save ID images to Photos, or include customer identities or ID images in reports.
Photos taken through the Front photo option are used temporarily for the current check. They are discarded when the photo process is completed, cancelled, restarted, or put in the background. Names and dates displayed during a check are not saved in the report history.
What the app saves
The app saves your preferences, such as vibration and warning-tone settings, and daily aggregate check counts on your device. Report counts include total checks, outcome categories, scanning sources, and checks where expiration was not detected. Repeated checks count again.
Saved reports do not contain customer names, dates of birth, expiration dates, addresses, ID numbers, raw barcode contents, or ID photographs. Preferences and local counts remain until you change or delete them, remove the app, or otherwise remove its data.
Local app data may be included in device backups controlled by you and your Apple Account. CheckFirst 21+ does not operate a cloud report-sync service.
Permissions and your choices
The app requests camera permission for scanning. You can change camera access in your device's Settings. Manual date entry is available if you do not grant camera access.
Use Settings → Delete all local reports to remove saved report totals. Deleting reports does not remove copies you previously exported or shared, or copies in device backups. You control exported files and backups separately.
Sharing reports
You can choose to export and share aggregate PDF or CSV reports through the device's share controls. These reports contain counts, not scanned customer identities or ID photos. Temporary export files are removed after the sharing screen is dismissed.
If you send a report to another app, service, or person, that destination handles the shared copy under its own practices. Universal Liquors does not receive your report unless you choose to send it to us.
Accounts, advertising, and purchases
CheckFirst 21+ does not require an account or signup. The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics services, or developer-operated tracking of your scans. Universal Liquors does not sell scanned ID information.
Apple handles App Store purchases, downloads, and platform services under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not receive your payment-card details through the app. Opening a support or privacy webpage uses your browser and is subject to that website's privacy practices.
Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use it to respond to your request and maintain related support records while needed. Please do not send ID photographs, raw barcode contents, or customer personal information.
You may contact us to request deletion of support correspondence. Some records may need to be retained to meet applicable obligations. We cannot retrieve or delete local data on your phone; use the app's deletion controls for report totals.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy if the app's information-handling practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
